FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Producer John Schwally to oversee Jordan TV training

Maplewood, NJ -- January 15, 2008 -- The United States Agency for International Development, in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy in Jordan, has committed funding to provide documentary film production training skills to producers and technicians at Jordan Television in Amman, Jordan.  As part of this effort, Anisa Mehdi's Whetstone Productions has been contracted by USAID and JTV to provide the professional services necessary to successfully complete the training program.  JFS Films' Producer John Schwally has been engaged to supervise this first-of-its-kind project from start to finish.

The training program is designed to put new technologies and production techniques in the hands of producers and engineers on the ground overseas.  The first phase involves John Schwally traveling to Amman to meet with officials at USAID, the U.S. Embasssy, and Jordan Television to discuss what will be accomplished and how to implement the program.  Following this trip, Whetstone and Schwally will arrange for top-level U.S. directorial and technical talent to join the JTV team on location to film a documentary for broadcast on JTV.  This phase will be followed by training in the edit room with an award-winning documentary editor from the United States joining JTV's editorial staff in its Amman post suite.

The final product will broadcast across Jordan in June 2008.
